Setting up automatic logon in Windows

The easiest way to setup automatic logon in Windows, regardless of version, is by using TweakUI.

Windows 2000/XP Pro as a member of a domain

Using regedit, make the following settings: 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
   DefaultDomainName REG_SZ Set to the domain you want to logon as.
   DefaultUserName   REG_SZ Set to the user you want to logon as.
   DefaultPassword   REG_SZ Set to the password for the user.
   AutoAdminLogon    REG_SZ 1
